Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist, and even a commentator at NBC News in Washington D.C. and is a television anchor. She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature from the University of Pennsylvania after growing as a child in New York City. Mitchell started as a radio and TV reporter at the time in Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. In 1976, she joined the CBS affiliate WDVM-TV located in Washington DC (then WTOP). She was promoted to Washington general reporter for NBC News two years later. Beginning in 1981, she began covering the White House and became chief congressional correspondent in 1988. She was named Chief White House correspondent in 1992 and the chief foreign affairs reporter of NBC News in 1994. Mitchell has been as a guest on TV news show Meet the Press as a panelist as well as host. She was on the panel during 1988's presidential debates, which pitted George Bush against Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is the wife of Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. In 2005, Mitchell received the prestigious Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government and, in 2004, in 2004, the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) awarded Mitchell by awarding her the Leonard Zeidenberg Award for her work in the defense from the infringement of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell reported on news from the White House first for NBC News between 1981 and 1988 during the time of Ronald Reagan's two term as president. Mitchell was a reporter on a range of interesting stories including the Iran-contra controversy and tax reform. She traveled alongside Ronald Reagan throughout his numerous trips to world summits and reported often.
